I would DEFINITELY lower your car. Here in Puerto Rico, we are infamous for our killer potholes, and I'm doin' ok. Drop it for shure.

I know you don't want to lower it due to bad roads, but still, I'd look into a minimal lowering kit, something like Eibach's Pro Kit. It looks like your Avalanche with the factory springs and those rims on it. Trust me, if I can lower my car in Michigan (which has some of the crappiest roads in the country) and be fine, you'll be fine...

You should definitely lower it. Even if not by much. It will make the car look a lot better. I live in the mountains and I lowered mine and its doing fine. The factory wheel well gaps looked horrible on my car.
