1992 Honda Prelude JDM Si - H22A
Owner: Robert King (Bling_Bling)
Date Added: 05/27/2004
Date Updated: 11/09/2005
Ride Specs

Engine: JDM H22A. This has been changed with a JDM H22A from a 96 prelude cause bad mechanic work by some mates destored my last engine, now my old one needs rebuilding and it will be done one day bigger and stronger.

ECU: Standard JDM ECU.

Exhaust: X-force Stainless Steel Headers a 4-2-1 set-up which includes front pipe all the way to the Catalic Converter. I have replaced the Catalic Converter with a V8 size Hi-Flow Catalic Converter. Then there is two an half iche piping from the Catalic Converter to the twin cannon setup i have on my car now. There is also a stainless steel highflow resinator directly behind the hi-flow catalic converter. The cannons are two X-force cannons two half iche inlet and three iche outlet. Web Site: http://www.xforce.com.au

Intake: The standard air box has been taken off and replace with pod filter.

Other features: The car also has four wheel steering

Interior: The interior styling is the JDM styling. I have retrimed all the material cover items in the car with racing red vinyls plus other plastic items in the car. The Hood lining, sun roof, door inserts and A pilers where done in matching material. The seats where kept and totally retrimed as well in red and black inserts. Items that could not be trimed easily cause of their size where change colour via painting them to match into the styling. The back shelf of the car was retrimed also but the speaker holes where filled in and covered over since I will only have subs in the rear end. Some pictures are now included.

Accessories: Mainly all standard JDM parts. There is an aftermarket gear knob. The handbrake and gear knob boot has been retrimed to match the styling but will be replaced later on. The same with the gear knob. The floor in the front two foot wells have full stainless steel checker plate floor mates. The design of these cover the whole foot well.

Boot: The boot has been stripped to be designed later in the same styling as the inside.

Body Kit: It is a full Jet Speed Kit designed and marketed in Australia. It includes front and rear bar and side skirts. The front bar has been shaped abit different to the orginal Jet Speed bar to give it that one of a kind look.

Colour: It has been painted in Super Marina Blue which is a Honda colour of the gen 5 Preludes. With silver white meshing.

Other features: The car came with a sun roof.

Head Lights: The headlights are JDM headlights, which are a single piece headlight compare to the two piece headlights sold here in Australia. The parker have been re-wired as indicators

Clear Indicators: Clear indicators on the side have been installed.

Tail Lights: The Tail Lights have been changed. I replaced the orignal factory Tail Lights with a set of Altezza Clear Tail Lights from the guys at Car Mate.

Wheels: 17" x 7" ROH Blades, these wheels have been repainted in light silver as seen in the pictures. The website for these rims is: http://www.roh.com.au/pages/html/home.htm

Suspension: Basically standed with some crazy @ss super low imported springs from Japan but they have wrecked my struts and does not take long to wear new ones out as I have replaced them once already.

Brakes: JDM ABS braking. Vtec sized calipers and discs on the front and rear. Bendix - Advance Pads all rounded on all of the calipers. All the surrounds have been painted in bright red to match the theme on red, black and greyish white on the Exterior of the car.

Electronics: JDM Climate Controls. It works really well and make a difference in summer over here in Australia

Alpine head unit

Pivot Control Speed and quarter mile reader

Future Mods

Brakes: Will change the discs on the car all round to DBA 4000 club-spec series or another DBA upgrade disc product. Plus better pads and fluid.

Body Kit: I soon will be fixing the kit and flash mounting it so the lines flow over the car right,
then a new coat of paint. I will be using a dark blue colour plus more clear gloss lots of it.

You have a beautiful car. Could be one of the best on here but honestly bro, You don't need to comment people saying "stock as a rock". People work hard with the money they have. Sorry if not everyone can make their car look like yours.

Hi, thanks for visiting. Check out your interiour! Nice work. I tried and engine swop last year when my stock engine blew, but after the 3rd tuner refused to do the work and let alone finding the engine, I was running out of time and replaced it with another one of the same kind. I am in Germany, after all, the land BMW, not Honda:(

nice jdm lights, respect.

Posted By: nspec
Date: 01/24/2006
Hey Man. Awesome ride. I agree w/ Bastion. U gotta get rid of those altezza lights. If it was my car, I would get black housing tail lights. And also the mufflers. They look too small, get some huge ones. And may be the front bumper. Every thing else is perfect looking, specially the interior. I would give it 9.9/10 for the interior. Great Job man

I would love to loose the engine for a larger one, but with marriage and mortgage just around the corner, its a no go.

Yet another person who does not understand the term HondaShowOff it is a site for cars that are modified to look diiferent, go quicker or in other words show cars, not your ordinary stock car you brought at the nearest concer and have no plans to do anything to it. It is cool if you post a car on here you a slowly doing up but if your post it to say you own a stock car why bother.

The car use too have plain old as prelude interior, which looks boring, I kept the hard black plastics and vinyals and pulled most of it out and got it retrimed and then refitted it msyelf, the whole inside I put together bit by bit and nearly every piece has been altered abit. The outside is nearly all brand new and a big job done by my painter and my glasser.

Posted By: civicspeed888
Date: 09/22/2005
I love that interior, did you get it all redone? or just buy everything new...Im like the duel exhaust, looks hot, nice ride

Another reason in Australia there is alot of restrictions on what can be produced and what can not be sold or produced for our market. Japan is not so strict well was not back when Vtec's first start to appear. So a Vtec built for the Jap Market is alot better than a Vtec built for the Australian market.

Posted By: Bling_Bling
Date: 08/16/2005
Here we go. In Australia the only model that comes out with a H22A for a started is the VTIR's which did not start to appear in Australia till 1994. Also mine is a Si with a Vtec inside from the factory Australia Si came out with a piece of poo F22A or a H23A, in power and performance the H22A wins. Plus the head design in a JDM H22A to a Australian Spec is abit different, plus the ECU Set up and fuel mapping on a Jap verision is alot more aggresive.

Posted By: mixalis

what are the differences on the engine from a prelude that is sold in australia? whats that makes it more powerful ?

Nice Prelude. Makes me miss my 89 lude. Anyway, I plan on dropping the actual euro accord type R engine in it once I save enough money and get back from Iraq. Besides that H22 engine is extremely hard to find in Alaska and even more exspensive to ship. Thanks for the comment anyway.

nice car man, 4 wheel steering? call me stupid, but never knew that the japanese preludes had that...

oh yeah, and IronMan, just because its not totally riced out for your likings doesnt mean it doesnt deserve top 10

Thanks for all your votes so far keep it up. I will take some photo of the inside soon and have them all there for looks, this car is a long way of complete by the end of next year should have a totally new look to it, some body changes and new paint and tinting and all that stuff.
