all show but no go....typical for someone who thinks he knows about everything. As it seems a fat guy can only do so much in a fat heavy car...and calling it a Ek9 just to make your self feel better then so be it....I bet you never even touched your car once putting those parts on...or even swapping an engine in the car...So sad its all good though stay a wannabe-think-he-knows-about-jdm...

i like ur coupe. but i am way too poor to afford real jdm parts... therefor i wont buy jdm parts. ill just stick to the nice good looking parts..and spend the money i saved up on buying cheap exterior parts and concentrate that towards REAL engine parts..

LMAO, wow! You really dug yourself a hole in your last reply to me considering what you said to Blender afterwards. Your "cheap generic parts, cheap automatic DX" rambling prove your desperation to attempt to ignore the facts of the truth I spoke of. Any REAL man will accept their downfall and suck it up and say "you know you might be right..." Looks like the only thing that needs gastric bypass around here is your overly inflated head and ego. ;) Speaking of which, let me quote your fine words to Blender: "Well sir (Blender) may I interject on my own defense based off your "assumptions" on me. You sir got me all wrong. For one you know nothing about me therefore passing prejudgment based on my upbringing or my parents is atrocious & uncalled for. You have no idea how hard I work to live the lifestyle I want. Im extremely humble about the things I worked hard for. So dont go off assuming anything you know nothing about." Wow, more touch words from a guy that turned around and did the same to me. Calling out my g/f whom you don't even know or let alone have ever seen?? Tsk tsk tsk on you, son. You know NOTHING about me either I hate to tell you or my g/f for that matter. Boys everywhere we go drool over her, but this argument is about our parts and cars, not our women. So again you look like a fool, a jealous and desperate one with your statement. But what do I care, you wrote it and not me. :)

All that aside, what's so generic on my car besides my Rotas and lips? If I honestly cared about having imitation wheels, I'd have bought the Mugen MF10 Mirror faced wheels I had originall saved for a few years ago. But alas a $1000 mountain bike seemed like a better purchase at the time, and I'd still do it in a heartbeat again, over the wheels. My Rotas are light, lighter than most other aftermarket wheels out there at least. They are STRONG, durable and look good. Seriously, they look NO different than Volks not taking the "Volk" decals into consideration. But spending $2300 on the real Volks just didn't seem like a smart money investment at the time, I mean that's a seriously rediculous price for wheels in the first place.

Wheels aside what else is so generic? The authentic JDM Honda parts I have? My Tein coilovers? My Bride 1st gen JDM only available seats? My Koyo radiator? My APEX'i exhaust? I could go on and on, but it's pointless because my profile proves ALL of your words wrong about my car. But I don't care. Because when it comes down to it, it's fixed to my liking just as your's is to your liking, and mine FUNCTIONS and very well I might add as is plain as day obvious everytime I've hit the track with my car. I'm not hating on your car, nor have I ever. I just knocked your "function over form" statement which seemed to only be the surface of your contradictions as you've proved perfectly well yourself. I just call them as I see them and let the person dig their own hole. When it comes down to it, we're all car (and Honda) guys. If we all hooked up our cars the same, then what fun would there be in it?? Wow, I have Rota wheels so that makes my car inferior, right? Gimmie a break! You're only fooling yourself if you believe that statement.

check out the new pics, I want your seats bad, where did you get them, The website I buy jdm stuff from, Top End Motorsports, well they dont carry them.

Posted By: phixion
Date: 12/14/2006
P.S., Rota has more racing heritage than Rega. Don't believe me, look on their website. They have a racing team. Sure it's imitation, but honestly I could care less about the real deal on something that functions the EXACT same for me. I don't need bling bling brand names to make my car look good. Rant on Rotas all you want, but unless you have the magnesium TE-37's, then wheels are really just wheels with some lighter than others. As long as they look good and don't break in half when you drive down the street, who really cares. But I forget, a strictly DD car is all about form over function. ;) BTW, I wish Rota imtated every wheel out there, but alas I'll have to find other imitation SP1 Professors... boohoo! Not sure if you got my memo, but I can afford ALL of the JDMness on your car at least 3 times plus, ahahaha!!!! You see I have OTHER things in life to worry about saving for than just car parts, but to each their own, ehh? ;)

Let me add on the strut bar thing, I only noticed the differance ever when my car was bone stock. And only then I noticed it when I took the bar OFF, the car was floatier at the steering, that was all. Not in handling, but straight line driving. Odd since a bar is supposed to be for handling, NOT going straight. In any event, since my current setup is so stiff and precise, that is why I don't notice the differance. If I remove my strut and tie bar, I feel NO differance nor does my car handle any differantly. If you want a bar that REALLY functions, get an H-brace like I have. Only cost $65 but I might not perk your interest since Mugen makes no such part. Something to think about when it comes to suspension, what will gain you the most advantage, a part that bolts to 2 poits or 4 points? Strut ant tie bars bolt to 2 points.... A swaybar and something like my H-brace bolt to 4 points, MUCH more handling stabilization. I think the rest speaks for itself.

Posted By: phixion
Date: 12/11/2006
I hate to break it to you, but light wheels only help with rotational mass and unspring weight, NOTHING having to do with the effects of a strut or swaybar. A hood won't make a strut bar perform better eitherm, that's the funniest thing I've ever heard, LMAO! And you don't exactly have the lightest weight stuff out there either, I'm sure the added weight of a heavy "13 brake kit more than likely breaks even with the added weight my tranny might have. But if you really want to get into weight issues, I'm almost 99.5% sure my car is lighter considering it's a DX, which means NO sunroof, and my car never had A/C in it's entire life, subtract 30lbs. right off of that fact. ;) BTW, they aren't Regamasters (SW388's) but my Rotas are still light for "16's at 14.5lbs. even if yours by some weird fate IS lighter, it's not by very much at all.

But in all honesty here since you seem uneducated in it, Rega wheels, CF hood, Mugen this, Mugen that, it's just all wasted money eyecandy. Why? Simple, it only has REAL function on a true track car, not a daily driven street car. Do you race with your's? I don't mean stupid straight line street racing either, I mean REAL racing on a REAL track? I do, have pics and videos to prove it, and let me tell you son, strut bars do NOTHING for a street car unless it's precisely tuned, corner weighted and balanced, something I can bet you any amount of money that you've never had done. I haven't either, not yet at least (though corner weighting is being worked out as I type) and I can tell you from experience that all that Mugen stuff won't gain you anything when it really comes down to the function of parts, not lame Arospeed parts, but pars such as ones I have that cost A LOT less, and are manufactured with 100% function and 0% fashion in mind. Time to research up a bit more before spatting out things you aren't up to date on like weight issues and what parts function better for things.

Function over fashion...

I'd go for a good set of SWAYbars over the Mugen Strutbars. Strutbars, especially WAY overpriced Mugen ones won't gain you anything, and espeically compared to swaybars. Strutbars do NOT eliminate or even lessen body roll. Remember, function over fashion like you say in your profile. ;)

the b16b is not really a waste, but the b18c5 aint a big improvement either. forget the k20 too, k24 hooked up is nasty. But if you want a real speed demon and dont want expensive a$$ k motors, go with a b20 block with a b18c5 head, it will kill at the time attack runs and even run 11's or better on the drag

Posted By: horrse
Date: 12/01/2006
nice, not too many people who can afford to buy all real JDM parts so props to you. I say go K20 bro.. unless you wanna stay true then stick with a b16a/b

love the new pics man. i woulda figured youd have your rear bumper by now though, only 30 bucks at certifit and the extra money to paint it. i woulda sold you mine for cheap if i still had it when i got that bodykit, then you wouldnt worry bout painting it.

hey, i finally got my pics up. just my lips aint on yet cuz i cant figure out how im going to get it to fit right. plus its like a 2 man job. then im also waiting on new rocker panels (side skirts) so he can paint them cuz they sanded my old ones and came out too rough, so he couldnt paint them. so i told him to order the SI ones since theres come painted, maybe its easier that way.

Posted By: gwailo
Date: 11/23/2006
Yep the picures are out of date, I will post up some new ones soon. The bottom end went on the old D16, so I had a B16 swapped in.

Great motor you have there, esp like the wheels.

For what it's worth, whatever helps (performance wise). I live within my means and have other hobbies besides my ride. Although I love tuning with a passion, I DO have other priorities and responsibilites that take precidence over ALL my hobbies. Hence, no updates in a long time.

There is always the possibility of swapping in a manual or a B-Series. The potential is there, as you should already know, therefore I see no reason why such a saracastic remark was made (within my profile), after highly praising your modifications.

By no means was I implying your modifications weren't clean in my earlier comment. I was simply stating the way the information is presented (in your profile) is rather untidy for such a clean car. [end rant] Have a pleasant day and happy tuning.

yeah, its kinda hard getting actual JDM parts. my lips are actually the "style" ones. i didnt care. they look the same, its just gonna be harder to get on i guess. plus it was cheap, atleast i think. i got it from JDMSH!T as a package altogether.

i might actually be interested in those rims if i keep running into problems like i have been. i like 5 spoke rims, similar to mine, and gunmetal. but its hard to find some i like and for them to be 16's. there is one i really like, i think there called Drifz 517s. they only come in 17x7 and 18x7. im picky :)

nah, i knew he had an auto. i was talkin bout your pics from like the very first time i commented you. oh well. my future mod list, yeah, its crazy, hopefully someday it will happen. i can see myself getting a crabon fiber hood, and the seats, and the exhaust, and the door panels and rims kinda easily if i get them one by one. the motor i think would be the hardest, unless i get the motor first. but i dont like waiting long to get things.

the lambo doors is something i always liked tho. especially where i work, people park so close sometimes and dont even care, maybe if my doors went up i could get in and out my car better. what did you do with your old rims?

Posted By: joecivic
Date: 11/14/2006
love the new pics. i coulda sworn this had an auto tranny. unless you swapped that out. my cars actually in the shop right now getting my stock parts and lips painted. kinda sad though when i leftt it there. the way it looked sitting in the garage there, was pretty nice looking with all the reflections around the car. i shoulda took one last pic :(
i will keep you all updated though when i get it back. :) later man

love the seats for real, got a good build up so far, i say the ctr b16 will complete it and it will kill at car shows and the auto cross events. Skunk 2 coilover suspension kits are very comfortable to ride in if you want to consider them.

Well I'm glad that the people you talk to know the chassis code for every car out there. And I am happy that I call my car an Eg6, now if you can tell all the jdm motorsports market buisnesses to use all these chassis codes to there specific cars, lets see what they will tell you?

Posted By: JdmhybridEg-6
Date: 10/08/2006
well you are right about the chassis codes, but when you say that to people everyone everyone will be like what are you talking about? Thats what I mean by the majority popular common chassis codes are example as my Eg6. If you really know the chassis code name for my car then good but I'm sticking to Eg6....

Posted By: phixion
Date: 10/05/2006
Ok, I stand corrected, 5th gen DX coupe is EJ2. :) Only USDM EG is the EG8 of the 4dr. DX/LX.

Posted By: phixion
Date: 10/05/2006
I'd have to chime in and agree that since our Civics are USDM models, our main chassis code is EJx (x being whichever number). Main code for JDM models is EK, and main code for USDM 5th gens is both EJ (for the coupes) and EH, JDM is EG... My sister has a '95 DX coupe and her's if I remember right is either EJ4 or EJ5...

Posted By: JdmhybridEg-6
Date: 09/29/2006
Yes you are correct about you having an ej8, but EM1 is like the main label of your car like, say my car is like an Eg5. No will call it that cause everyone will still consider it as Eg6 main chassis name.

Posted By: JdmhybridEg-6
Date: 09/27/2006
Didn't mean to correct you, but your car isn't an Ek9. Its an EM1

when you got your parts painted, did they have to blend your paint also? i was just hopin he could paint my parts and i install it myself so it would all be cheaper. thanks :)

hey whats up. bout that certifit site, about how much am i lookin at for a bumper (im feelin lazy to just call em up and find out) and what would be the name of it, is it the bumper cover? cuz theres different parts with the word "bumper" in it..lol i need the front, back and 2 fenders though : / im still lovin ur car tho, i just got back home so i was able to take a few more pics, the only difference is the headlights, and the crack on my bumper :(

LMAO, that guy doesn't even read the notes that I leave him, LOL! Funny when morons don't practice what they preach. ;) Guess he forgot it's a free country. He's just a jealous fool trying harder and harder to justify what he can't really justify or even prove!

Anyways I don't let idiots like that get to me. I'll bet he wouldn't appreciate a nice car when he'd see one, but enough about him in here. I haven't been to your profile in a while, so the Civic is a bit different than I last saw it, but all for the better of course!! It's much more JDM'afied which is cool!! I'm still debating on if I want to get a CTR wheel or not, I've passed up good deals on a few though, so I dunno... I'm pretty happy with where my Civic is at right now, last addition was the Si grille I now have. it's just astetically better than the base Civic coupe grill, plus the paint I used on mine was peeling off from heat from the engine anyways, and that's just plain tacky lol! Not sure if you want the real deal JDM fogs or not, but right now this month JHPUSA (my 2nd fav local shop to me, PasswordJDM being my fav) has the EK JDM style amber fogs on sale for $109!! Other than not being true Raybrig, I don't see much else different with them other than maybe how they are wired. I lovemy JDM amber fogs though, but I'm going to upgrade them to a 3000K amber H3 HID kit pretty soon for increased output. Also on the agenda is installing a set of JDM EG style sidemarkers I got to replace the POS generic ones I currently have. I wanted VW Golf/Jetta markers, but too much work to make them fit, lol! They need a recessed mounting area, ahh wells! They aren't JDM anyways haha! Keep up the good work d00d!

it IS 'spelt', not 'spelled'. and by the way i wouldn't be going over spelling errors if you hadn't been so offensive with the sarcasm.

and i know those aren't real spoon sports mirros because i've seen real ones up close and the part that isn't the mirror is flat; your mirrors (as i can see from the pictures) stick out and aren't flat. if you'd like to see a picture of real ones i'll gladly upload the picture i took.

anyways still think this car is not bad. =/

nice car! i like the JDM CTR interiors!

Posted By: phixion
Date: 05/19/2005
Yeah, running the city lights in the CTR housings with PIAA GT-X bulbs in them, I had Plasma Ions in them before, but they didn't look right once I got the HIDs. JHPUSA is my store, it's where I've gotten a bit of my mods from, my headlights for example. Convenient being only 6 miles from their shop/warehouse too.

Still looking good. What fogs are you going with, you have both OEM and the JDM ones mentioned... I have the OE/JDM amber ones on my EJ6, bright and very nice looking. I'm considering running an H3 HID kit in them soon perhaps...

Nope, no swapping. No need to really. The motor I'm going to build up some and get a Jackson Racing S/C for it, and the tranny, well I'm going to get either a TCI or Level10 3500 RPM stall speed T/C upgrade for it. But no plans of swapping it nor do I have any regrets not having gotten it as a 5-speed.

Definitely better with the CTR style headlights. The Angel eyes were cool, but I think the CTRs have a much nicer look for sure! I need to get some new sidemarkers for mine, I almost got some JDM S2000 markers, but I don't like the idea of how they clip into the body rather than screw in. I'm actually considering a set of VW Jetta/Golf (Audi A4) markers now. $18 a pop, not too shabby.

Yeah, autos are usually pretty sluggish... but mine is quick enough to make me happy. I fix up my little civic just for fun.. as a hobby. If I want to feel real speed and power, I'll be getting it in my G35 coupe... which I'll buy at the end of spring ;)

Sorry to hear about what happend to your car. But yeah... good thing it was all taken care of by insurance. You have a good looking car. Clean and smooth. Who made your C-west style kit... it looks like the rear bumper is curved/warped.

Wow, sad to see the damage, but i feel the pain. This past winter some dumb girl in a Lexus SUV sideswipped me as I was driving down the street. She wanted to move into my lane while I WAS THERE. Luckily insurance found her to be 100% at fault, and her insurnace had to pay for all of my damages and repairs. Good luck with things man.

Thanks for the comment on my ride, love your type r seats. It makes the car stand out. I say go with the ctr headlights. Projectors are getting played out. And go with the oem carbon fiber hood.

Still looking clean. I like how the SHU4's look on the car, as well as everything else. I too agree that CTR headlights would do more justice, but the Angel Eyes definitely don't look bad. Keep up the good work on the ride, and check mine out sometime, silver coupe, kinda similar.

Posted By: biggins
Date: 07/15/2004
Looks very nice. I think CTR headlights would look better than the ones you have, but the car is otherwise flawless. eBay is my friend... I'm awaiting my new JDM CTR/SiR power mirrors

Posted By: phixion
Date: 06/25/2004
Pretty nice ride there. I'm going with the "CTR coupe" theme for my '00 EJ6 Civic as well, check it out. Anywho, where did you get your DC5R wheel from, and how much did it set you back? My understanding was only the CTR wheel would fit, and the DC5R wheel would only work on '92-'95 Civics. I want a Type-R wheel, but want to retain my SRS bag as well.
